SECOND  CIRCULAR

Dear  Colleagues,

Thank  you so much for your registration in the 4th China-Japan-Korea Joint Conference  on Geography. This conference, sponsored by Geographical Society of China,  co-sponsored by the Geographical Society of both Japan and Korea, will be held  at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in December 09-11, 2009. With the  aim of promoting wide academic cooperation among scholars across Asia, this  conference will provide all participants a vibrant, innovative safari to explore  the latest progress and development of geography.

This  is the Second Circular to inform you the following issues.

1. VENUE

The  Post-crisis East Asian Geography: Challenge and Outlook

3. TOPICS:  

Regional  Corporation, financial/economic crisis, environmental protection

Regional  and urban transformation of society, culture and economy in Asia

Geographical  research on new theories and new methods

4.  ABSTRACTS

Deadline:  September 30, 2009

Abstracts  need to be sent as a Word document attachment by 30 Sep, 2009, each contains  400-600 words besides the title, authors, institution or company, mailing  address, postcode, and e-mail.

You can submit your abstract via e-mail (either in e-mail text or  attachment file).

5. FOR ORAL  PRESENTATION

Time  for each paper: Each paper will be given up to 20 minutes maximum. Each paper  can take up to 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of discussions.

We  will offer aids for PC based presentation. Conference room will be equipped with  both PC and projector. You are welcome to use Microsoft PowerPoint for your  presentation.

Computer  files: If you intend to use PowerPoint slides, please put your PPT file in a USB  memory stick and load it onto the PC in the conference room before your sessions  begin.

Please  do NOT send your file(s) to the conference organizer(s) through e-mail.

6. FOR POSTER  PRESENTATION

We can provide 180 cm (H) X 90 cm (W) space for each poster. Please  prepare your poster within the size.

7. FEES AND  HOTEL

The  registration fee is USD $300 for one participant and will be paid at the  symposium. Registration fees cover hotels of three nights, one banquet, and  admission to the conference, conference packages (booklets), coffee breaks,  reception, and related services. The organizing committee would like to reserve  hotels for participants. For fieldwork participants, a fieldtrip fee of 50 USD  will also be charged at the symposium.

第四届中日韩地理学家学术研讨会曁第十二届全国青年地理工作者学术研讨会通知
（第二号）

由中国地理学会发起并由中、日、韩三国地理学会联合主办的“第四届中日韩地理学家学术研讨会”将于2009年12月9日－11日在中国广州召开。中国地理学会及会议组织者诚挚感谢已报名的各位亚洲地理学家对本次会议的支持，热烈欢迎各位学者齐聚羊城、探讨地理研究进展并推动三国之间的学术交流与合作。届时将举办“第十二届全国青年地理工作者学术研讨会”，欢迎全国青年地理学者共同探讨当代地理学的前沿领域与未来发展。

六、PPT展示

时间：每篇文章的展示时间不超过20分钟。建议汇报时间为15分钟，另外5分钟作为问答时间。会议提供电脑服务，会场将置备电脑和幻灯机，学者可在会前将PPT拷进会议电脑。

七、海报展示

会议为每一张海报提供180 cm (H) X 90 cm  (W) 的空间，请学者控制海报的大小。

八、研究生学术辩论赛

研究生学术辩论赛是青年地理工作者学术会议的重要内容之一。会议期间分自然地理和人文地理两组举办研究生辩论赛，参赛队员为代表队所在单位正式注册的博士生或硕士生。欢迎国内各大专院校和研究院所选派代表队参赛。参赛单位须在2009年10月31日前报名。

九、  会议注册费

注册费国外学者为300美元（含住宿三天）,  国内学者为人民币800元，国内学生为人民币300元，将于2009年12月9日报到注册时收取。注册费包括一次会议宴会、茶\咖啡\点心等会间茶歇和其他相关服务活动。注册费不包括住宿费用；住宿将由会议组织方统一预定。考察费用另外收取，费用为50美元，也将在注册报到时收取。
