The Chinese National Geography is a Chinese monthly magazine, co-sponsored by the Geographical Society of China and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS. It is China’s most authoritative geographic magazine. Founded in 1949, the magazine has revamped itself several times, and has become now the most popular scientific magazine in mainland China. The magazine is circulated in both simplified and traditional Chinese editions. In April 2009, it launched its first bi-monthly international edition.

This publication is based on Chinese geography, featuring natural and cultural landscapes and events in different regions of the world, revealing its background and mysteries, as well as astronomy, biology, history and archaeology. The articles and pictures of this magazine are often reprinted by central and local media, with strong readability and collection value. Many libraries at home and abroad have regarded this magazine as a key collection of periodicals.
